

She sits on several Advisory Boards for Climate KIC, the European Aluminium and the IEEP and is a Senior Associate and faculty member of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) and a Senior Associate for E3G.

She holds several advisory positions for the European Commission: Chair, Expert Group on Economic and Societal Impact of Research & Innovation (ESIR) Member, Assembly on Research & Innovation (DGR&I) TEG Sustainable Finance Taxonomy, Chair, Manufacturing & Outreach (DGFISMA). She is currently the Co-President of the Club of Rome and divides her time between lecturing, facilitating difficult conversations and advisory work. Sandrine Dixson-Declѐve has 30+ years of European and international policy, business leadership and strategy experience with a particular focus on EU and international climate change, sustainable development, green growth, conventional and sustainable energy solutions and sustainable finance. Inspired by ideas from quantum physics and quantum social science, this new approach – known as quantum social change – describes a conscious, nonlinear, and non-local approach to the transformations needed right now to address multiple global crises and shows how every single one of us matters in the process of transforming our future. O’Brien’s new book You Matter More Than You Think: Quantum Social Change for a Thriving Worldintroduces a radically different way of thinking about climate change and social change. In 2021 she was a co-recipient of the BBVA Foundation Frontiers of Knowledge Award for Climate Change. She has been named as one of the most influential researchers over the past decade and has written and contributed to many articles, books, and reports.

Her research emphasizes the social and human dimensions of global environmental change. Karen O’Brien is a professor at the University of Oslo and co-founder of cCHANGE, an organization that supports transformation in a changing climate.
